Core Directions is led by Amber Picou, Ed.D., PCC. Her work has always focused on the mental & emotional health & wellness of women & girls. Dr. Amber holds a master’s & doctorate in leadership & organizational development.
Also, she is a certified teacher and social skills and life coach.
Dr. Amber is a native of San Francisco, California. She is very involved in various organizations, such as the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., & Spirit in Action.
Not only does Dr. Amber teach a college course on wellness, but she also volunteers her time and skills to community leaders, girls, & social justice issues. Her interests are varied & wide-ranging. You could find her giving a presentation on human trafficking or food insecurity. She crochets afghans for those in nursing homes & makes dinner for homeless families. She is part of the “sandwich” generation - taking care of her mother and daughter. In her spare time, Dr. Amber works on her family’s genealogy, attends plays & concerts, & travels to any location that is on her bucket list.
